Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary
Just 46 km away from Delhi, in Gurugram Haryana, Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary
is yet another charming weekend gateway from Delhi. Founded by the famous Ornithologist
Peter Jackson, the bird sanctuary was opened in 1972 and spreads over an area
of 44.5-hectare area.
You will be able to watch 250 species of
birds especially during September- March.
The bird sanctuary is home of darters,
egrets , gadwell and geese dominate. Teals, kingfishers, lapwings, sandpipers
demoiselle cranes and many water birds. The sanctuary remains open 7:00
AM-4:30PM. It remains closed on Tuesday. There is a minimal entry fee and video
